Love Hot Showers? – Cleanliness in Crisis
Cleanliness in Crisis – Love a Hot Shower?
We LOVE HOT WATER!!
If you’ve ever been dry camping you know how much a shower changes everything. A HOT Shower changes things even more. Days at Burning Man or days in Joshua Tree or days waiting for help after an emergency – finding a way to be clean can become a consuming focus. Cleanliness is as much about the physical as the mental. It feels good to be clean.
Hot water can be used for more than just personal cleanliness – HOT wonderful showers – dish washing – safer drinking water.
The Camp Chef Triton 10L Portable Water Heater brings hot water anywhere you need it. Camping, after a power outage or even if you water heater breaks and you cant get anyone to come out immediately. 10 liters is quite a bit of water. If this is part of your emergency kit and planned to be used as a shower versus for dishes or boiling water plan accordingly. 3.78541 (4) liters is a gallon. At burning man we suggest 1 gallon of water per day per person but have found we can manage on less. With this I’d suggest increasing water to 5 gallons per person per day. This is a significant amount of water – once water is restored this could be used with a filter that remove particles and remove basic contaminates. I would definitely filter water after a stop both for large particulates and dirt as well as for salmonella etc using a Life Straw Family or a Berkey.
Pair this up with the TexSport – Deluxe Camp Shower Shelter and you have it made, not just for camping but any emergency situation you need a shower/water heater combo.
This also makes a great place to put your Reliance Products Hassock Portable Lightweight Self-Contained Toilet aka porta potty.
